Team Leaders

Signature Commercial is based in Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau’ with local teams across the country. Our Signature Commercial leadership team works closely with regional teams to provide tailored resources and specialised expertise to meet each client’s needs.

Paul Bull

Chief Executive Officer

Paul joined the Signature Homes network in 2014 taking over the role of Chief Executive Officer for the Signature Homes Group. The mandate was to enhance network commercial capabilities, drive rapid business growth, retain a clear focus on being Aotearoa New Zealand’s premier branded home builder and continuing the group’s journey towards being a world class franchise system with strong robust business partners Nationwide.

Consisting of 30+ years in the industry, with a highly successful track record in Business Development and Management, Paul’s career moved quickly into Senior Management positions focused on Operation’s, Health and Safety stewardship, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, General Management, Governance, and other senior strategic industry positions within the New Zealand building sector, most recently prior, as the Chief Executive of one of New Zealand’s leading building supply businesses. Paul exudes a passion for business growth, customer centricity and ensuring teams he leads, either directly or indirectly, thrive in their chosen field.

Josh George

National Business Development Manager

Josh joined Signature Homes in 2024, bringing over 28 years of experience in the New Zealand construction industry. He began his career at a leading steel solutions provider, spending 16 years in sales and leadership roles across the South Island.

He then moved to a major building supply merchant, where he spent 12 years in senior positions, including six years as General Manager – Sales on the executive team. There, he led strategic engagements, contract negotiations, and national agreements with top builders, ensuring governance and compliance. Josh's expertise covers the construction supply chain, logistics, and health and safety standards.

He recently played a lead role in the development of an ESG reporting framework for a major timber manufacturing and building supplies company.

Portia Lawrence

National Business Development Manager

Portia joined the Signature Homes team in March 2021 from 24 years in relationship, team and senior management roles within the leasing finance industry.

Her previous roles have given her exposure to a broad range of clientele, from individual operators to large multinational corporate organisations, from local hauora centres to the country’s largest DHBs, and from charitable organisations to government entities. As such, she is all too aware of the diversity of organisational needs and thereby the importance of taking the time to understand not just the requirements but also the drivers in behind them. Portia is passionate about delivering bespoke value and, in doing so, engendering long-term, meaningful relationships between organisations.

Keith Hall

General Manager Operations

Keith joined Signature Homes with an extensive career in the residential development and building industry in behind him. An Architectural Designer by qualification, he spent 14 years in a design and then operations management capacity with one of Auckland’s largest home builders. This was followed by 8 years with a leading Aotearoa New Zealand property development company and most recently 2 years with a large civil alliance delivering build ready land for Kāinga Ora.

Keith manages a team that delivers Health & Safety and Sustainability policy and support, Quantity Surveying best practice and training, Project Management best practice and training, as well as Procurement and Supplier Management. Keith’s team is also responsible for managing and administering our home building guarantee programme.

Max Schlegel

National Manager Client Delivery

Max’s background includes completing a carpentry and joinery apprenticeship with Fletcher Construction, multi-story commercial construction, major street scapes and surface upgrades, and 5 years spent in managing a team of 35 local staff to deliver luxury holiday home projects. Upon returning to NZ, Max took on superintendent roles within major civil works companies and, most recently, working with ACC and Housing NZ in Auckland and the Far North as Housing Manager with a focus on finding best fit housing solutions for people with disabilities.

Max’s expansive career to date means that he brings a breadth of building knowledge and experience with him to his new role at Signature Homes. His role encompasses the management and administration of our best-in-industry residential guarantee programme, as well as providing client advocacy in ensuring on time and to specification home build delivery.

Jon Malcolm

Project Support Manager

Jon joined Signature Homes as a Residential Project Manager and, after five years with the company, he has transitioned to the National Office as Project Support Manager. With 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Jon’s career spans roles such as Commercial Account Manager (timber merchant), Project and Business Development Manager for an engineering firm, civil contractor, and Residential Project Manager.

Jon’s diverse background in residential and civil construction has equipped him with extensive knowledge in construction management and a talent for finding solutions under pressure. His strong focus on health and safety is central to his approach, ensuring effective communication and reporting in his role.

Kim Harris

National Marketing Manager

Kim joined Signature Homes in November 2019, coming to us with over 13 years of extensive marketing experience. Kim’s marketing career started out at Vodafone NZ, where she developed her broad marketing skillset to become a specialist in marketing strategy and customer experiences. Kim then went into the advertising world, making a positive impact on various brands, including Tourism NZ, Chorus, Southern Cross, Visa, Fonterra, and many more.

Always in the background, Kim knew that she had an undeniable passion for real estate and jumped at the chance when she saw an opportunity arise at Bayleys under their specialist project marketing division. Kim went on to lead the Bayleys Project Marketing team, taking them from a relatively unprofitable division to a highly profitable division working with some of New Zealand’s most notable developers. A noteworthy achievement at Bayleys was an award she received for best marketing campaign Asia Pacific 2019 for the Lakeside Te Kauwhata development, which was recently sold to Kāinga Ora by Winton.

Helena Witkowski

National Manager Health & Safety and Franchise Support Services

Helena joined the Signature Homes network in September 2017 in the role of National Manager Health & Safety & Franchise Support Service. Helena oversees and ensures that our standards are adhered to across our franchise network, and aims to continuously lift performance in the key areas of attention to detail, expectations on site, sub-contractor awareness, reporting systems and internal auditing.

Helena is also a key player in bringing our sustainability aspirations to life, and is working closely with our expert advisor to determine our next steps. In particular, Helena’s implementation of our Health & Safety Management Standards programme across our national franchise network has seen her recognised by her industry peers and her approach held up as a best practice example.
